Context or Corruption?

"I'll be your baby tonight." - Bob Dylan
Trump supporter Kid Rock was recently called to task for inappropriate lyrics from his song “Cool, Daddy Cool.”

| The message is pretty clear. |
Some say that’s statutory but I say it’s mandatory.”
I don’t think there’s much room for interpretation there. The context is pretty clear.
Of course MAGA, being as unimaginative as they are, were quick to follow up with one of their favourite “oh yeah, what about…” deflections to accuse Bruce Springsteen of inappropriate lyrics from his song “I’m On Fire”.
“Hey, little girl, is your daddy home?
Did he go away and leave you all alone?
I’ve got a bad desire, Oh, oh, oh, I’m on fire.”
Keep in mind, the complaints about this last song are coming from the same group of people that objected to radio stations banning, “Baby, It’s Cold Outside”.
Regardless of that there’s a big difference between “Cool, Daddy Cool” and “I’m On Fire”. It’s called “context.” Maga doesn’t see the difference because their thoughts are primarily based on emotions and bias and they are not capable of or are unwilling to take context into account.
They are taking the phrase “Hey little girl” literally and ignoring the context.
Terms of endearment such as “little girl”, “baby”, “baby doll”, “baby blue” and even “child” that have been used in many popular songs since the 1950s and 1960s and even before simply weren’t referring to underage girls.
When Gerry Goffin and Carole King wrote “Go Away Little Girl” for Bobby Vee and Steve Lawerence, the “Little Girl” referred to in the song was not an underage minor. The reason she was being rejected in the context of the song wasn’t because of her being a tender age, it was because the singer was already in a committed relationship.
“Go away, little girl, I'm not supposed to be alone with you.
I know that your lips are sweet, but our lips must never meet.
I belong to someone else, and I must be true.”
“Baby It’s You,” written by Burt Bacharach and Mac David and recorded by the Shirelles and later, the Beatles - not about a pedophile.
“Don't you remember, you told me you loved me, baby?
You said you'd be coming back this way again, baby
Baby, baby, baby, baby, oh baby I love you, I really do,” from the song Superstar, written by Bonnie Bramlett and Leon Russell and sung by Delany & Bonnie and later the Carpenters - also not about a pedophile.
“I wanna be your lover, baby, I wanna be your man,” written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney and recorded by the Rolling Stones - not about a pedophile.
“Oh, I love my Rosie child, you got the way to make me happy, You and me we go in style,” written and sung by Neil Diamond - not about a pedophile either. In fact the “Cracklin’ Rosie” in this song is actually about an inexpensive bottle of sparkling wine.
Even Frank Sinatra had a song titled “Little Girl Blue” (written by Rodgers and Hart) which ironically enough, not only wasn’t about a pedophile, but rather about a woman who had passed her prime.
Do you see the difference? They are all a far cry from “young ladies, I like ‘em underage, see, Some say that’s statutory…”
MAGA also jumped on the bandwagon by quickly pointing out that Bruce Springsteen was mentioned several times in the Jeffery Epstein files, ignoring the Department of Justice’s disclaimer that being mentioned in the Epstein files is not necessarily an indication of any wrongdoing. MAGA wants you to believe that about Trump but not so much anybody else if it doesn’t fit their agenda.
Many Rock Stars have been mentioned in the Epstein Files such as Mick Jagger, Paul McCartney, Bono, Elton John, Bon Jovi and more.
Elvis Presley, Janis Joplin, Marilynn Monroe who were all dead for between 20 to 30 years prior to the date of the earliest record in the Epstein files were even mentioned. CONTEXT people CONTEXT. Many were mentioned in passing in emails to or from Epstein discussing their concerts or movies and nothing more.
The reason that Bruce Springsteen was mentioned in the Epstein files while Kid Rock was not, has everything to do with Springsteen's popularity and success as an artist being far greater than Kid Rock will ever be. Kid Rock can’t even write a whole song on his own. 167 Kid Rock songs were written by sampling pieces from other artists including “Cool, Daddy Cool”. Kid Rock adapted the 1957 hit “Daddy Cool” which was written by Bob Crewe and Frank Slay and recorded by the Rays. However the lyrics in question were added by Kid Rock and NOT found in the original version.
There are many, many people mentioned in the Epstein Files that likely were never involved in any wrongdoing and I’d be willing to bet that a large number of even Trump’s mentions in the Epstein files have no connection to any wrongdoing. Maybe none of them do, although I doubt it.
But when someone is mentioned 38,000 to 50,000 times with claims that the unreleased and redacted files might suggest a number closer to 1 million…doesn’t that merit at least an investigation into Trump’s possible complicity?
If someone is going to these lengths to distract you… make certain you don’t take your focus off what’s really at stake.
