Belly up to the Bar"

(coming 2025)
Here's a shopping list for the ingredients you will need to make at least one of every recipe for every drink and treat you will find in my new book "Cocktails for Two" scheduled for release in 2025.
There are two lists, one for shopping at the LCBO / Liquor Store and one for items that you can pick up at most grocery stores.
The lists may look a little overwhelming to begin with, but upon examination you will likely discover you already have many of the ingredients on hand, particularly those ingredients included on the Grocery Store List.
Due to pack sizes you will be required to purchase, you should also take into consideration that most items will leave you with sufficient ingredients to make more than just one drink. For that reason you should consider carefully your purchases for items like fresh fruit or items that have a shorter shelf life. Unless you intend to make everything in the book right away, perhaps you will want to postpone purchasing some ingredients for a later time.
Following each ingredient, you will notice a number in brackets that will let you know how many recipes require this ingredient. This will help you prioritise your purchases.
As you discover the delightful treats in "Cocktails for Two" you will also discover there are recipes included for some ingredients you may require.
For example, you will find recipes for things like Irish Cream and Coffee Liqueurs. While these are delightful drinks in their own right, they are also ingredients used to make other cocktails or shooters. So when you see an ingredient such as Irish Cream marked with an asterisk, you can choose to purchase it for your bar for instant access or you can skip over it for now, knowing that the rest of the list will provide you with all the ingredients required to make your own Irish Cream.
When you download the pdf files below you can print your shopping list to take with you or pull it up on your phone to take to the LCBO and grocery stores with you.
If you choose to print the list single sided, you will require 10 sheets of paper.
However by changing your printer settings to 2 pages per sheet, double sided you will only require 3 sheets of paper.
Setting your printer to print 4 pages per sheet, double sided is the most efficient way to print your list, requiring only 2 sheets of paper. Obviously the print size will be reduced accordingly, but it should still be readable for most people while some may require the assistance of reading glasses for better viewing.

You will likely find it challenging if you were to fully stock your bar with one single one purchase. I recommend you start out with just buying a few bottles of the most common spirits with the goal of adding to it gradually on a weekly, monthly or even just periodic basis as your budget permits.
But what spirits should you start out with. To help you make this choice, I have provided a "Short List" for your purchases. With just 5 different spirits you can make up to 44 different alcoholic beverages from "Cocktails for Two" including 4 liqueurs that can be enjoyed on their own or used to make some of the delicious cocktails.
These are the spirits you will need to purchase to start:
White Rum, Gin, Tequila, Vodka and Whisky.
Those 5 liquors will allow you to make:
Coffee Liqueur, Irish Cream, Orange Liqueur, Blue and Orange-Flavoured Liqueur.
Along with the list of items you will need from the grocery store (and many of them you will likely already have on hand) you will be able to make all of the following cocktails, shooters and treats.
