Sobeys Denies Canadians The Freedom Of Choice

We need to put more pressure on retailers and our government to demand clarity in labelling. I recently learned that "Compliments" products, marked "Prepared for Sobeys" indicate the product was “Made In Canada". When it is marked "Imported for Sobeys" I think it’s pretty obvious the goods were made abroad. But if it is marked " Produced for Sobeys" which is a subtle difference from " Prepared for..." the goods were also made abroad. It seems to me that this distinction is purposely being used to deceive the consumers. Otherwise, why not just say “Imported for Sobeys”? Sobeys is hoping I don’t know the difference and they don’t want me to suspect they are importing goods from the U.S. I find it a little insulting that ...
