Even though Golf may not be my cup of “tee”, a recent NAVICOM study reported there are almost 5.7 million golfers in Canada. That’s about 15% of Canada’s population that look forward to getting out on the links to tee off.

Avid golfers that live in or are visiting the Argyle area don’t have to go far to enjoy their sport since Northern Palms Golf Course opened in 2016.

A little off the beaten path, you’ll find
Northern Palms Golf Course situated halfway between Highway 69 and Highway 11 so it’s easy access no matter where you’re coming from.

Situated at 558 Clear Lake Road in Arnstein, the Par 3 Golf Course is owned and operated by Sandy & Rick Curry who welcome you seven days a week to their 9 hole course any time between the hours of 8:00 am and 7:00 pm. No reservations required.

Scotland as you know is the birthplace of golf and both Rick and Sandy come by their love of golf honestly through their Scottish Heritage. While they were born and bred in Canada, Sandy’s father hailed from Aberdeen while Rick’s mother was Scottish and his father was Irish. Rick remembers that mix often led to some interesting family reunions.

It’s one thing to love a good game of golf but it’s quite another to aspire to own your own golf course. Rick and Sandy however, took their love of golf to the extremes when Rick decided to design and build their own golf course amongst some of the most beautiful landscape the Argyle Area has to offer.

Although there are no sand traps, the 4 ponds, gentle rolling hills, stone fences and abundance of trees ensure Northern Palms Golf Course is a challenging course that will delight all golfers as they successfully make their putt on the greens of well maintained vent grass.

Golfers that enjoy a drink while they play can make their requests before they head out on the course and Sandy will ensure all thirsts are duly quenched.

When you’ve completed the course, relax and enjoy the view from the Clubhouse where you can order hot dogs, hamburgers or sausages with a cold beer or other beverage of your choosing.

Of course larger meals can be arranged for events such as tournaments, family reunions and weddings in Northern Palm’s fully licensed dining room.

Golf Clubs and Caddies are available to rent and while Northern Palms Golf Course does not currently have electric carts available, they are growing and always looking for ways to improve the course. Rick is currently working on adding two more holes for golfers that like to use their drivers for those long shots and hopes to have those ready within the next year.

Be sure to check out Northern Palms Golf Course Facebook Page for more information.

Looking for a few days of Stay and Play? Check into the Northland Motel just a few miles away in Port Loring. Or better yet, bring the whole family and stay for a week’s vacation at one of the many beautiful resorts such as Bain Lake Camp, Tornado's Canadian Resorts, Minnehaha Camp, Northern Lights Resort, Clear Lake Cottages, White Birches Camp and more.

Whatever your summer pleasure… Argyle has it All.
